Discover the journeys of three helicopter pilots who were destined to fly.

Coptersafety, the world's largest independent helicopter simulator training center, based in Finland, proudly presents this captivating short film created by Isabella Presnal and No-Office Films.

Most Hollywood movies don’t paint a realistic picture of the helicopter industry. The short film From The Ground Up debunks myths about helicopter safety and features stories of seasoned pilots.

Andreas Hjert is an air ambulance pilot for Norwegian Air Ambulance working in northern Norway. Flying in different mission types, Kristian Krog works as an aerial work pilot flying in sling-load operations for Pegasus Helicopter. Marthijn over de Linden operates in the wind energy sector with HeliService, flying and hoisting wind turbine technicians in the North Sea. While flying helicopters is their main job, they also are in charge of training their crews in and out of the simulator at Coptersafety.

The short film was filmed in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and The Netherlands showcasing diverse helicopter operations. No Finnish film has ever featured such a diverse array of helicopters before.

No-Office Films, an award-winning global creative powerhouse, defies its size. Operating seamlessly from both, Los Angeles and Helsinki, with teams ready to go from New York to Lapland and from Bangkok to Beijing. They leverage trusted partners worldwide and excel in remote productions.

Isabella Presnal
Filmmaker

Filmmaker Isabella Presnal presents "From The Ground Up" as her 12th short film. Isabella spent her childhood moving around the world due to her father's helicopter pilot career. She shares this story in her role as the Marketing Manager at Coptersafety. 

Isabella dedicated herself to mastering editing and video production at an early age. By high school, she was already showing her short films at film festivals. Isabella earned her Bachelor of Culture and Arts from Tampere University of Applied Sciences' Fine Arts program in 2022. Her thought-provoking thesis work and documentary challenged the "female filmmakers" label'simpact on women entering the industry.

Isabella has created commercial video work capturing moments ranging from interviews with a NASA astronaut to documenting behind-the-scenes of SuomiAreena children’s event.
